COMPANY POLICIES

Below is a few of our company policies (T&C's). It includes what happens when the weather is bad, how booking deposits work and other stuff that keeps us black and white in how our company operates.

Booking Policy

Regular Booking Deposits To confirm a booking, we need to receive a deposit to book you into our diary. We require a 50% deposit (of the total cost of your event) which has a "Cancel with 14 days" cancellation period on it. If you cancel before 14 days of the time/date of your event, your 50% deposit will be completely refundable. If, however, you cancel or reschedule within the 14 days of the time/date of your event, you will not be refunded your deposit. Christmas Booking Deposits If you book between 1st November and 31st December, your booking is defined as a Christmas booking by Kiwi Axe Throwing Ltd. To confirm a booking, we need to receive a deposit to book you into our diary, like a regular booking. However, cancellation times differ. We would require a 50% deposit (of the total cost of your event) which has a "Cancel within 30 days of event" cancellation period on it. If you cancel before 30 days of the time/date of your event, your 50% deposit will be completely refundable. If, however, you cancel or reschedule within the 30 days before the time/date of your event, you will not be refunded your deposit.

Rescheduling your booking

Should you want to reschedule your event time/date, your deposit cancellation period will not extend and your deposit will be non-refundable. The only exception to this is bad weather (See our Bad Weather Policy) or if the NZ government decides to shift Covid-19 alert levels to levels 3 or 4. We still operate under alert level 2. Should you want to cancel due to personal reasons, whilst under Covid Alert Level 2, and you are in your “Cancel with 14/30days of event” period, your deposit will be non-refundable.

Rescheduling your event is dependant upon availability within our diary.

Full Payment of an event

Full payment of any event should be made to Kiwi Axe Throwing at least 24 hours prior to your event date and time. Failure to do so could mean that Kiwi Axe Throwing will not attend your event and, as such, you will forfeit your booking deposit.

Bad Weather Policy

If the weather should be unreasonable and unsuitable for your axe throwing activity, we will either rearrange a time/date or cancel the event.

Kiwi Axe Throwing Ltd holds the right to deem what weather is unreasonable or unsuitable for axe throwing activities. This may include extreme winds, heavy rain, extreme temperatures (High and low)

On the account of unreasonable weather forcing us to stop the event/cancel the event once set up, we will have further discussions with the event organiser regarding any refund or reschedule that is deemed fair and reasonable.

Drugs & Alcohol for Participants Policy

This policy is relevant to any person/s that are participating in any axe throwing activity with Kiwi Axe Throwing Ltd.

We will not let intoxicated persons take part in any axe throwing activities. Whilst we can allow drinking of alcohol during participation of the axe throwing activity, anyone that is considered intoxicated or poses a danger to themselves or others will not be allowed to partake in any axe throwing activities.

As Kiwi Axe Throwing does not own any drug or alcohol detection equipment, any staff member may deem what is an unacceptable level of intoxication.

Kiwi Axe Throwing will always err on the side of caution when it comes to participants being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Therefore , we reserve the right and decision to decide who is considered intoxicated/dangerous.

Minimum Age of Participants Policy

We currently have an age limit of 14+ for joining in on our axe throwing experiences. Kiwi Axe Throwing Ltd has decided on this age limit for varying reasons. Kiwi Axe Throwing Ltd is only insured to allow those of 14 years of age, and over, to participate in any axe throwing activities. Any person under the age of 18 will need a parent or legal guardian to consent them to participate via a liability waiver.

Participant Clothing Policy

This policy is relevant to any person/s that are participating in any axe throwing activity with Kiwi Axe Throwing Ltd.

Kiwi Axe Throwing Ltd reserves the right to deem what is appropriate clothing for any axe throwing activity. Anyone wearing an item of clothing which may cause harm to themselves or others will be asked to either remove that item or change it. If the participant doesn't want to remove any items of clothing that are considered dangerous, they will not be permitted to continue in any axe throwing activities.

Example items that can be considered dangerous:

  • Hooded jackets

  • loose jewellery i.e. dangling necklaces or loose fitted bracelets

  • high heeled shoes

  • Jandals

  • Open-toed shoes

  • very restrictive clothing including tight business shirts

  • Hats with brims or peaks (Beanies are fine)

These are examples of dangerous clothing whilst axe throwing. This isn’t a definitive list and could be subject to other items of clothing.

Closed-Toe Shoe Policy

To participate in any axe throwing activity, all staff members and participants must be wearing closed-toe shoes. We suggest trainers/sneakers/running shoes.

If you do not have closed-toe shoes with you, you will be offered closed-toe shoes to wear whilst throwing axes. These will be supplied by Kiwi Axe Throwing, however these will be a few set sizes and we cannot guarantee the correct size for you.

Should you not bring your own closed-toe shoes or refuse to wear closed-toe shoes that have been provided to you, you will not be able to take part in any axe throwing activities.

This is a non-negotiable policy

Cancellation/postponment due to Covid Alert Level changes

If we are at Alert Level 3 or 4, for the dates of your events, we will unfortunately have to either cancel or postpone your event time and date, to a time where alert levels have changed to Alert level 2 or lower. Cancellations (Refunds) will be subject to alert levels. We have systems in place to be able to work at Alert level 2 and as such, we will expect to still do axe throwing during this time. (Please check out or Covid-19 page) If the date/time of your event happens during Alert level 3 or 4, we will gladly refund you 100% of your deposit/full payment. If the date/time of your event happens during Alert level 2, your deposit will be non-refundable as per our cancellation policy, if you wish to cancel the event. We can reschedule your event date at no cost to you, however this is subject to other bookings in our calendar, and as such your preferred date may be unavailable. Should you reschedule the date of your event within the dates of our "booking desposits policy", your deposit will become non-refundable (Unless it is affected by weather or covid alert levels 3-4)
